LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Almost everyone has unwanted hair somewhere on their body. Unfortunately, traditional hair removal routines can be tedious, painful and don’t last very long. Laser hair removal emits a form of intense light (laser) to create a condition within the hair follicle that destroys its ability to produce hair. Clients who have received laser hair removal services are pleased with the amount of time they’ve gained by not having to shave.

We have been providing St. Louis-area residents laser hair removal for 19 years with the very best results. Laser hair removal is safe, effective and fast. Our laser techs are registered nurses who are specially trained to prescribe customized treatment plans. A series of treatments provides optimal results. Frequently Asked Questions
Some clients experience mild discomfort during the actual service, but the treatment is brief and the discomfort fades quickly. Redness is minimal after each service.
The FDA has classified laser hair removal as “permanent hair reduction” because periodic clean-up treatments may be needed in the future, usually due to the taking of certain medications or to hormonal changes, such as pregnancy and menopause. Three to six treatments are required to achieve permanency, with five being the average for most areas.
The length of time between treatments varies because laser hair removal is only effective on hair in the active growth stage. Your laser specialist will review a hair growth chart with you during consultation to determine your maintenance schedule.
Laser energy is light that has been converted into heat. The heat vaporizes the pigment below the surface of the skin. This prevents the follicle from producing new hair.
We apply ultrasound gel to the treatment area. The tip of the laser rests against the surface of the skin, scanning over the treatment area. Everything within the sapphire window of the chill tip is treated each time the laser pulses. Some of the hair will rise to the surface during the treatment, while other hair may take up to two weeks to shed. At the end of the two-week period, there will be a noticeable reduction in growth. With each treatment, the growth reduction is more and more substantial.
Typically, a series of six treatments is recommended, though this number may vary due to skin tone, hair color and several other factors. Our specialists will discuss variables that may affect your individual needs.
